WOW!! Delicious food and superb service nestled in a cozy, hip spot in downtown Gainesville. I had the eggplant rolatini, which was vegan and wonderful. There’s something on this menu for everyone. Lots of steaks, seafood and vegan or plant based options. We will definitely be back!

A cozy place with a nice atmosphere, good service, and decent food... We were a table of two and ordered the Salmon Affumicato (pictured) and Mushroom Ravioli. Presentation was great, plates looked really appetizing, but as soon as I took a bite I realized the flavors just didnt mesh well. The smoked salmon itself in the Affumicato was really good, but the rest of the ingredients just didn't complement it as well as I had hoped. The cream sauce was a bland blanket that smothered the other parts of the dish... The salmon genuinely saved it for me. Same general thoughts apply for the Mushroom Ravioli, you could taste the separate ingredients in a way that made the plate feel... Incomplete. Good ingredients separate don't always make a good dish when put together... I see a lot of promise in the pastas here, I just wish I could say it was better. On another note, do try their meats and sandwhiches, if my salmon was any indication they do have quite the quality in that department! Thanks for reading!

I don't know why but I was hesitant to try this place. I should have tried it sooner. I'm obsessed with the corn nuggets. I got the Caesar salad topped with blackened salmon which might sound boring but it was great. Maybe the best I've ever had. My husband had the ancho steak which was pretty chewy but that was just the cut of the steak, still tasty. I also love the atmosphere. I thought it would be too much of a "college vibe" to handle but it was enjoyable.

I visited The Top on a Thursday evening and they’re already busy after 40’ opened. I was happy to wait 15’ for our table with high expectations given its reputation, but unfortunately, the meal did not live up to the hype. I ordered several items that are highly recommended, but the overall experience was a letdown. • The Food: The Au Poivre Picanha was a major disappointment—the steak was very chewy and difficult to eat. While the pasta was just okay, my daughter unfortunately felt sick shortly after eating it, which was very concerning. Even the hamburger felt strictly average and didn't stand out at all. • The Service: The service was fine, but nothing more. Our server was "okay," but certainly not the level of attentive or professional service I expected from a restaurant with such a high rating. I really wanted to love this place, but between the tough steak and my daughter feeling unwell, it simply didn't meet the standards of a top-tier restaurant. I likely won't be returning.

The Top is a really just restaurant on a weekend, however I was somewhat underwhelmed by the quality of food in comparison to the wait. We had to wait nearly an hour for a table, which wasn't an issue because the outdoor bar area is nice to sit and enjoy the ambiance. However, the food order also seemed to take some time (they were busy), and the tofu dish and eggplants rollatoni were both bland and did not hit the spot this time. I would come back to try something else!
